this Three Day Tour visits Oman's Empty
Quarter,
and the land above the clouds Jebel Akhdar. We travel
from Muscat through spectacular Wadis with a visit to a
local family and after a visit to one of Oman's classic
forts and lunch its then onto the Empty Quarter for a night's
simple
camping close to one of the great sand dunes. After
breakfast we depart on a journey to visit Jabrin Fort and a stop at a charming village with
abandoned mud village and a date oasis then its on upwards
to 2,000 meters and Jebel Akhdar for a night in a small
hotel. After breakfast we take a walk through the
agricultural terraces where Rose, Pomegranate, Walnut and
other plants are grown . Following lunch the return journey
to Muscat will take us through the Ophiolite mountains.

visiting the giant Green Turtles and great Fort of Nizwa
this Three Day Tour visits
sets off down the east
coast of Oman, making a visit into one of the great wadis
which enter the Sea of Oman from the mountains. After lunch
we visit the town of Sur were the traditional style Omani
wooden Dhow is still made. Then its on to Ras Al Jinz
for an overnight which can include watching the giant Green
Turtles lay eggs. The following morning we travel into the
golden sand dunes of the Wahiba Desert and visit the home of
a Bedouin family for coffee. Later we arrive into the Golden
Tulip hotel at Nizwa for an overnight stay. After breakfast
we ascend to the plateau for a walk through the
agricultural terraces where Rose, Pomegranate, Walnut and
other plants are grown . Following lunch and a descent from
the mountain we visit the great fort at Nizwa and return to
Muscat.

visiting the ancient Tower Tombs and giant Green Turtles
this Three Day Tour
sets off down the east
coast of Oman before ascending an an extraordinarily steep
track to the high mountain plateau above. Here are some of
Oman's ancient 4,000 year old Tower Tombs . After an
overnight simple camping on the plateau a descent is made so
that a traverse of the Wahiba Desert can be made from north
to south where the sands meet the Arabian Sea. Late in the
day we arrive at Ras al Jinz for an overnight which gives
the opportunity to watch some of Oman's Green Turtle
population lay their eggs on the beach. After breakfast we
return to Muscat stopping at the coastal town of Sur to
enjoy a boat ride in the lagoon and perhaps a chance for
some line fishing. Before arriving in Muscat there will be
an opportunity to enjoy some 'wild swimming'.
